Executive Statement

In our world today we see a strong need to teach life skills and important concepts of health and wellness through the performing arts. Too many of our current students are faced with adult sized problems and we see an urgent need to support, assist and teach things that could help them in their own unique situations. The first thing that is usually needed no matter what is happening in their own life is their continuation of taking class and training in the arts. We know their training provides structure and stability, a feeling of safeness and self awareness, motivation and encouragement, and love and support. By continuing their training they can remain in a stable environment, and still be seen and be heard and matter.

Funds that we raise for The Diamond Arts Wellness Project could keep students with financial needs in class and give them the opportunity to keep working towards their goals. Money raised and donated could provide scholarships for students needing help with tuition and dance supplies, updates on studio equipment, funds for new music and new costumes and funds could also pay special guest artists and master class teachers to come and teach students valuable, current and empowering information.

In addition to our own annual Christmas Show which we have been producing for about 18 years, activities and events that we are currently planning to produce and host are an Annual Benefit Concert, periodic Cabaret/Dinner Theatre nights, Special Guest Performances and Concerts by alumni and guest artist performers followed by a meet and greet with the performers. We have also begun talks for auctions and give-aways, inspirational Ted Talks for Teens, Adolescent Therapy and Meditation with professional therapists, Community Outreach projects and an Annual Dance Concert in the Park.

Our Wellness Project has the potential to provide potential students higher education possibilities with universities and conservatories even as prestigious as The Juilliard School. We know this is a real possibility because we have supported two of our own students (now alumni) through an education at Juilliard, and many others to amazing schools that specialize in the arts all over the country. We are confident that by us putting our mission in the spotlight of our community and bringing awareness to these important needs for these young humans who wish to thrive in the performing arts and be supported in their goals and dreams, will give us the potential to truly assist and inspire many.
